Assignment 11: The Concrete Rose

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk without having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.
After reading this poem from Tupac Shakur I think that he means that anything great can grow from something bad. I believe that he had a rough life while growing up, and trying to become a great rapper was hard. He was and will always be a legend, and a great rapper. I think that he was trying to reach out to people by this poem. He was trying to tell people that no matter where you come from, you can always do great things, it just depends on how you look at things.
The line that says "Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk without having feet", meant to me that to prove that one person who is telling you over and over again that you cant accomplish anything, is wrong when you take the steps to accomplish your dreams. This poem is using a lot of metaphors, because when you really read the poem, it is telling a story about yourself. This isn't just a poem telling people about his life, he is telling a story about every person who has struggled through his or her life, to become something greater.
When you are reaching out to your goals, and dreams, there is usually that one special person who is there through everything and cheering you on. The one's who having to learn and grow in their own, are the one's who know which roads to take to have a successful life. Throughout your whole life there are going to be good times and bad times, but when you take those bad times and learn from them, they will help you through the bumpy road ahead.
